Pest Insect Control
Entrust® SC Naturalyte® insect control, listed by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for use in organic production, provides the performance organic growers have come to trust, but in a liquid formulation. Produced through the fermentation of a naturally occurring soil bacterium, spinosad, the active ingredient in Entrust SC, provides control of a broad array of pest insects such as worms, thrips and leafminers.
Conserve® SC contains the novel and highly effective organic pest insect compound Spinosad. insect control offers fast, effective control of thrips, bagworms, black cutworms, sod webworms, armyworms and other lepidopterous insects at low use rates in turf and ornamental settings.
Captain Jacks Dead bug Brew® is a spinosad-based insecticide from Bonide that targets beetles, moths, mites, and others. Spinosad is derived from a naturally occurring soil dwelling bacterium that was collected from an abandoned rum distillery in the Caribbean in 1982, hence the name of this product. It is available in a liquid concentrate and a ready-to-use dust formulation.
Bonide Insecticidal SUPER Soap RTU is a patented, fast-acting, ready- to-use formula from Bonide that kills 30 insects, mites and powdery mildew. It can be applied on a variety of crops and container plants, including vegetables, citrus, fruit and nut trees.
PyGanic is a broad-spectrum contact insecticide synthesized from Chrysanthemums (pyrethrins) to knockdown and control crop damaging insects. It is OMRI listed and NOP compliant for organic use. PyGanic is compatible with IPM, farm safety and Worker Protection Standards (WPS) given its user friendly toxicity profile. It is ideal for Organic growers who need insecticide options for hard-to-control insects.
Note: Due to potential bee toxicity, PyGanic is only recommended after other options are exhausted and consultation with the Green Earth staff.
Grandevo® is an advanced, cross-spectrum insecticide that offers protection against chewing and sucking insects. With up to 14 days of residual control, Grandevo gives growers a powerful new tool to strengthen their pest management strategies in IPM or organic programs. Grandevo provides this performance with no toxicity to pollinators or other beneficials. Grandevo is recognized as fully compliant for use on organic crops by the National Organic Program (NOP) and is certified by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI).
EcoTrol Plus® from KeyPlex attacks pest insects through their octopamine receptor, which is a key mite and insect neurotransmitter that regulates movement, heart rate, behavior and metabolism. The product prevents the transmission of neurological signals and leads to characteristic signs of toxicity such as excitation, immobilization and/or knockdown, followed by death. EcoTrol is formulated to deliver maximum performance with minimal environmental impact. The active ingredients of EcoTrol are natural oils.
Javelin WG is a biological insecticide specific for use against Lepidoptera larvae as listed on the label. Javelin WG must be eaten by the larvae to be effective. Since Javelin WG is most effective against small, newly hatched larvae, an early scouting program to determine early infestations is recommended. After consuming a lethal dose of Javelin WG, larvae stop eating within an hour, but may remain on the foliage until they die, usually within several days. Affected larvae move more slowly and tend to become shriveled and discolored before dying.
Monterey B.t. Biological Insecticide is a natural bacterium that controls worms and caterpillars on fruits, vegetables, ornamentals and shade trees. A natural solution proven for decades, B.t. provides non-toxic control of devastating pests that is effective without off-target or environmental damage.
Molt-X® is an emulsifiable concentrate formulation containing 3% of the active ingredient azadirachtin - the most potent of the insect-active compounds from the neem tree. While it is derived from neem seed, Molt-X is not a neem oil. Molt-X has multiple modes of action, making it an ideal material for an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and organic programs. Insects treated with Molt-X become sluggish, stop feeding, and fail to mature and reproduce.
Bonide® Diatomaceous Earth is an indoor and outdoor crawling insect killer from Bonide that controls beetles, cockroaches, ants, silverfish and more. Applied as a dust or slurry, Diatomaceous Earth kills insects on contact and by ingestion within 48 hours of contact.
BotaniGard® and Mycotrol® are unique biological insecticides that are effective against a broad range of insects including white grubs, surface feeders, weevils, chinch bugs, and mole crickets. These products contain the highly successfulBeauveria bassiana strain GHA, a naturally occurring soil fungus that attacks and kills hard-to-control turf pests. BotaniGard’s mode of action is unlike any conventional insecticide. Spores adhering to the host germinate and produce enzymes that attack and dissolve the cuticle, allowing it to penetrate the cuticle and grow into the insect’s body, ultimately leading to death.
BotaniGard® MAXX combines the technology in Mycatrol and BotaniGard for comprehensive coverage. It uses multiple modes of action for quick knock-down and control of aphids, thrips, weevils, whiteflies and more. It uses natural pyrethrins (beauveria bassiana strain GHS). It is an excellent partner for use with BotaniGard. The combination of Beauveria bassiana strain GHA and natural pyrethrins provides multiple modes of action. The results are comparable to those obtained from conventional chemical alternatives.
Surround WP Kaolin Clay protects plants in three ways, promoting higher yields and more high-value fruits and vegetables. No other sunscreen product provides this insect suppression capability. For organic growers, the insect suppression properties of Surround provides a valuable tool in managing insect populations. Surround Kaolin Clay crop protectant forms a barrier film, which acts as a broad spectrum agricultural crop protectant for controlling damage from various insect and disease pests, a growth enhancer, and as a protectant against sunburn and heat stress.
Bio Works SuffOil-X® is a unique concentrate of pre-emulsified, highly refined, high paraffinic, low aromatic oil.
